Instead of asking the creature to try eating the player: say "[one of]'Are you sure you're not about to eat me?' you ask. [c]Not yet,[c] the creature replies. 'What do you mean by that?' you ask and back away a step.[paragraph break]It raises its hands and recites: 'When the time comes, The Nameless One will rise from the Sea of Oblivion and call us to him, and we respond with the Song of Eternity; mankind comes to an end while we feast upon the flesh of men, and the skies are colored with the blood of the innocent. Ia ia ia!'[or]'So you're not going to eat me?' you ask. 'No[one of][or]. Stop asking[stopping],' it replies.[stopping]"; now the Song of Eternity is conversable; now the Song of Eternity is familiar; now the Sea of Oblivion is conversable; now the Nameless-One is conversable. Instead of asking the creature to try singing to something or singing: say "[c]I do not sing,[c] [the creature] replies icily." Instead of asking the creature to try singing to the Song of Eternity: say "'Could you sing a bit of the Song of Eternity? If I catch the tune I could join on the chorus,' you suggest.[paragraph break][c]The moment I would start your eyes would melt and your brain would unravel itself and flow out the eye sockets,[c] [the creature] replies. [c]While it might be amusing, it's always such a mess I think I'll pass this time.'" Instead of asking the creature to try tying something to: say "[c]Do you expect me to talk?' the creature asks.[paragraph break]'No, mr. [creature], I expect you to.. tie.'". Before asking the creature to try doing something when the creature is not present: if the guard is in the cell: say "'Bye then, guard,' you say. The guard grunts and closes the eyehole."; make the guard leave; otherwise: say "You don't dare to ask [the creature] such thing right now."; stop the action. |
