The sweater is clothing worn by the player. The description is "It's your adventuring sweater. It is actually not very well suited for adventuring, being thick and a bit too big, but that's what your mom said it was when she gave it to you. It has long sleeves that can be pulled over your hands if it gets too cold."
Instead of examining the sweater when the creature is present for the first time:
say "[the description of the sweater][line break][your mom joke]";
Instead of looking under the sweater when the sweater is worn:
say "Under your clothes is... you![if the creature is present and clothing are worn][line break]'Found anything? I didn't think so,' [the creature] remarks.[otherwise if the creature is present][line break]'Good, that's a start. The next step is to actually pick them up and [italic type]wear them[roman type],' [the creature] says.".
Instead of looking under the sweater when the player is not carrying the sweater:
say "Nothing has magically appeared under [the noun] after you put it on the floor."
