Part Clothing


The adventuring clothes is wearable thing. It is plural-named, self-lit and bulky. The description is "[if the adventuring clothes are worn]You are wearing[otherwise]They are[end if] your adventuring clothes: a pair of green pocketless pants and a gray wool sweater. Actually they're not very well suited for adventuring, being thick and a bit too big, but that's what your mom said they are when she gave them to you."

Instead of examining the adventuring clothes when the creature is present for the first time:
    say "[the description of the adventuring clothes][line break][your mom joke]";
    
The player wears the adventuring clothes.

Understand "clothing/cloth" and "adventure" and "pant/pants" and "sweater" and "shirt" and "gray" and "green" and "wool" and "pair" and "pair of" as the adventuring clothes.

The indefinite article of the adventuring clothes is "your".


Instead of eating the adventuring clothes:
    say "Let's leave that to orcs and such.".

Instead of opening the adventuring clothes:
    say "They don't have buttons.".

After wearing the adventuring clothes when the creature is present:
    say "[one of][c]Thank heavens,' [the creature] sighs when you put on your clothes.[or]You put your clothes on.[paragraph break][c]I and my eyes thank you, good sir,' [the creature] says.[or]You put your clothes back on.[paragraph break][c]Best idea you have had yet,' [the creature] says.[at random]".

After taking off the adventuring clothes:
    say "You strip naked.[if the creature is present][line break][one of][c]That's so very much unnecessary,' [the creature] remarks dryly.[or][c]Oh for crying out loud!' [the creature] yells. 'That's [italic type]really[roman type] not something I would have wanted to see.'[or][c]Ok, I don't mind you taking your clothes off, really,' [the creature] says. 'But could you [italic type]please[roman type] stop dancing while doing it?'[or][c]I've always wondered why humans wear clothes,' [the creature] says. 'I wonder no more.'[or][The creature] sighs. [c]Ok, go ahead, take [']em all off, see if I care!'[stopping]";
    now the clothes are in the cell.



Instead of attacking the adventuring clothes:
    say "It'd be best not to destroy your only clothes here.".

Instead of touching the adventuring clothes when the creature is present for the first time:
    say "Mmm. Mom has used the good fabric softener.[your mom joke]".

Instead of touching the adventuring clothes:
    say "Mmm. Mom has used the good fabric softener.".

Instead of squeezing the adventuring clothes:
    say "They're all dry already.".

Instead of smelling the adventuring clothes:
    say "They smell like... you.".

Instead of rubbing the adventuring clothes:
    say "They're clean enough.".

Instead of climbing the adventuring clothes when the adventuring clothes are not worn:
    say "They don't form a pile that high.".
    
The printing of the the adventuring clothes is usually "There are no care labels. Mom knows how to wash them even without."
Instead of reading the the adventuring clothes when the creature is present for the first time:
    say "[printing of the noun][line break][your mom joke]".

Instead of looking under the adventuring clothes when the adventuring clothes are worn:
    say "Under your clothes is... you![if the creature is present][line break]'Found anything? I didn't think so,' [the creature] remarks.";
    
Instead of looking under the adventuring clothes when the adventuring clothes are in the cell:
    say "Nothing has magically appeared under the clothes after you put them on the floor."



To decide whether the player is naked:
    if the player is wearing something, decide no;
    decide yes.
    
To decide whether the player is clothed:
    if the player is naked, decide no;
    decide yes.

In the early drafts the initial puzzle was to turn the light bulb *off*, and that required protecting your hands with a piece of clothing because the light bulb was too hot to touch. When the puzzle changed, individual pieces of clothing were dropped as well for the sake of simplicity.
