Gus is wearing a sweater. The description of the sweater is "[if gus is wearing the sweater]Gus wears a[otherwise]It's Gus's[end if] hooded blue sweater with white decorations. A tag is [if gus is wearing the sweater]protruding from the neck[otherwise]sewn to it[end if].[if the tag is unread][one of][paragraph break]For some reason a thought that the tag is somehow important crosses your mind.[or][stopping][end if]".

Understand "shirt" as the sweater.

Check wearing the sweater when the player is wearing the track jacket:

say "The track jacket is way too big to fit the sweater over it." instead.

Definition: the sweater is concealed if the player is wearing it and the player is wearing the track jacket.

Before dropping the sweater when the location is the Artist hangout:

let chair-target be a random chair in the location;

try putting the sweater on the chair-target instead.

Before traveling when the player has the sweater and the sweater is not concealed and the location is the Artist hangout:

say "One of Gus's goons sees you leave and points at you. Gus turns around and sees you [if the player is wearing the sweater]wearing[otherwise]with[end if] his sweater. 'Hey, whatcha think you're doing? That's my shirt, come back with it!' he shouts.[if the player is wearing the sweater][line break]'And take it off you! Can't you afford own clothes?'" instead.

After wearing the jacket when the player is wearing the sweater:

say "You put the jacket on and close the zipper so that you can't see the sweater under it."

Before taking off the sweater when the player is wearing the jacket:

clarify "first taking off the jacket";

silently try taking off the jacket.

Instead of moving to the stage when the player has the sweater:

say "Better not take Gus's sweater with you on the stage. He'd just score easy points for accusing you for theft."

Every turn when the player is wearing the sweater and the location is not the Artist hangout:

award 1 point for "stealing Gus's sweater";

change the hint list of the sweater to the table of stolen sweater hints;

change the hint list of the tag to the table of stolen sweater hints.

After putting the sweater on the corner table:

say "You put the sweater on the corner table. The spotlight lights it brightly."

Instead of putting the sweater under the spotlights:

clarify "putting [the sweater] on [the corner table]";

try putting the sweater on the corner table.

Check showing the sweater to Gus:

say "The sweater could come in handy yet. Better not let Gus have it unless he wrestles it from your hands." instead.

Instead of showing the sweater to Gus when "tag" has inspired us:

silently try taking off the sweater;

say "'I'll just leave this here,' you say.[paragraph break]'Good. Stop messing with my things!'";

try dropping the sweater.

Instead of showing the sweater to Joe Mahma:

say "'Can you read what it says in the tag?' you ask Joe Mahma. 'This is a problem you have to solve by yourself,' he zens."

Instead of showing the sweater to Norbert:

say "'Can you read the tag on this sweater?' you ask Norbert. 'Oh, I believe it's quite impossible, considering the state of my eyewear,' he says."

Check showing the sweater to Ralph:

say "Better not let him know you nicked Gus's sweater." instead.

Check showing the sweater to Vincent:

say "He'd just blow his nose on it surely." instead.

Check showing the sweater to Britney:

say "You're not sure how she would react, so you decide not to draw her attention to the sweater." instead.

Instead of showing the sweater to the guard:

say "'Could you read the tag for me, please?'[paragraph break]'Ma'am, I can barely see you through these sunglasses,' he says."

The hint list of the sweater is the table of sweater hints.

The hint list of the tag is the table of sweater hints.

Table of sweater hints

hint
"The sweater is important. You should find a way to steal... uh, borrow it."
"First you should get Gus to remove it."
"Since it's unlikey you can talk Gus into taking off the sweater, you need to give him some other reason to do it."
"Altering the environment a bit should make Gus remove the sweater."
"Making the club hotter would make Gus take the extre piece of clothing off."
"There's a thermostat by the entrance."
"Find a way to switch the thermostat to warm, and Gus will take the sweater off."

Table of removed sweater hints

hint
"The sweater is now available, but if you try to leave with it, Gus will stop you."
"You need to make sure Gus or his posse won't see you leave with the sweater."
"There's no practical way of making everyone look elsewhere, so you have to think of something else."
"Making sure the posse won't see the sweater when you leave should be enough."
"You need to conceal the sweater somehow."
"You have an item that should be big enough to conceal the sweater."
"The track jacket is big enough to cover the sweater."
"Wear the sweater, then wear the jacket on top of it."

Table of stolen sweater hints

hint
"You need to read what it says on the sweater's tag."
"The problem is that you don't see what it says on the tag."
"You need to make the text bigger."
"Norbert has lost a lens from his glasses. Find it and read the tag through it."
