A procedural rule: substitute the can't reach things while falling rule for the can't reach inside rooms rule. Definition: a thing is out of reach during in-flight if it is enclosed by the cell and it is not enclosed by the player and it is not the player. This is the can't reach things while falling rule: if the container in question is a room and the container in question is not the location: say "It's too far to reach."; rule fails. After deciding the scope of the player: if the player is in the portal: place the cell in scope; Instead of examining when the player is in the portal and location of the noun is the cell: say "[one of]It flashes by your eyes leaving only blurred lines behind.[or]There's no way of examining it more closely in this speed.[purely at random]". |
